One of the most beautiful rooms in London
The library overlooks the gardens of Carlton House Terrace. Considered one of the most beautiful rooms in London, it has attracted many admirers, including Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, for whom it was said to have been a favourite interior in London.
Casts of the Bassae frieze, placed in what is thought to be the original arrangement, adorn the upper walls. Corinthian columns form screens at either end so the room has 3 parts while retaining an open feel.
